AFL ROUND 18

Collingwood V Carlton

Who would think that this game would have so much interest. (Other than celebrating Carlton creating history by winning their first ever spoon). Punters rallied on this game with zest all types of wagering was done here. Someone close to Global was very happy to place his weekly wage on the Pies @ -36.5. Pies looking to seal up a Top 4 spot.

Bigger Bets
Coll $10000 -36.5 @ $2.10
Coll $10000 -36.5 @ $1.95
Coll $4400 -34.5 @ $1.90
Coll $7000 @ $1.15 (For Dinner Bank)
Carl $11000 +36.5 @ $1.90
Carl Index +30 (Lucky only $2.00 point)
Drawn Match (Just missed) $300 @ $67.00

Geelong V Kangaroos

A quiet game with punters just happy to see this game run. Cats have hit their flat spot. Roos still hunting September action. Unfortunately not much action in the Margins. With Roos winning by 40+ most margin punters lose. (especially with weather report ringing in their ears of plenty of rain)

Bigger Bets
None To Mention

Fremantle v Hawthorn

This match was evenly supported by punters. No one keen to throw on in large proportions( We don't blame them) Freo blast Hawks out the race for September action. The question of can Freo win away from home may be answered next week when they take on the Tigers in Melbourne.

Bigger Bets
None to mention

Port Adelaide V St Kilda

With the Saints safe from the spoon for 2002, this game took on new meaning. Port after their fade out last week looking to go top of the ladder, if Brisbane stumble.(Sorry no go there) Punters happy to bet here with support for both sides on many of the options available.

Bigger Bets
Port 1-39 $8000 @ $2.50
St Kilda +36.5 $11000 @ $1.90
Over $100000 worth of multis still alive after Port have a win.

Essendon V Brisbane

Festival Hall returned to Melbourne on Saturday night, with Big Bad Scott vs Killer Barnard, Iron Johnson vs Ruthless Wellman. It was on for young and old and a spectacle to watch, pity for the Bombers Lloyd went down early never to return.
Huge betting game with "form" punters happy to throw on Brisbane, and "value" punters happy to have a piece of the action on Essendon. Brisbane firm to close to "even money" for the Flag after this effort in Melbourne. Essendon looking extremely shaky for September action

Bigger Bets
Brisbane -20.5$10200 @ $1.90
Brisbane-20.5 $15000 @ $1.90
Brisbane $6000 @ $1.38
Brisbane $3000 @ $1.38
Brisbane Index -24.5 $220 a point
Essendon +20.5 $10000 @ $2.00
Essendon $4000 @ $3.20

Sydney V Adelaide

This game was decided at the coin toss simple as that Ricciuto won it Crows kicked with a 5 goal breeze and game over.
Sydney played catch up footy all day.
This was a reasonable betting game with Adelaide being supported straight out as well as at the line and heavily through multiples.

Bigger Bets
Adelaide -3.5 $4,000 to win $3,600
Adelaide 1-39 $4,000 @ $2.40
Adelaide $5,000 @ $1.75
Sydney $1,000 @ $2.00

Melbourne V Richmond

Early in the week Tigers were well supported with all the 3.20 taken we ducked and missed the onslaught.
Melbourne were well supported late with punters happy to take the $1.47 and back them in doubles This is a must win game for the demons anxious to cement a top 8 spot for September
Richmond 46 points with 20 mins to go , no problem, however someone forgot to tell Melbourne who nearly stole the game. Close but no cigar.

Bigger Bets
Melbourne $5,000 @ $1.47
Melbourne $2,200 @ $1.47
Melbourne $2,000 @ $1.47
Melbourne $1,600 @ $1.47
Melbourne $1,000 @ $1.47
Melbourne -16.5 $1,600 @ $1.90
Richmond +18.5 $5,500 to win $5,000
Richmond $2,000 @ $3.00

Bulldogs V West Coast

The Doggies were everyman and his dog's pick in the multiples. There was some big bets on the eagles by some punters (taking a little insurance on some nice dividends) on the final leg of their multis. The price on the Eagles tumbled as word filtered through that Croft and Grant would not take the field for the Dogs.
With a top 8 and top 4 spot up for grabs the Eagles couldn't perform to their WA form and went down by a bunch.

Bigger Bets
Doggies -11.5 $15,000 @ $1.90
Doggies $4,000 @ $1.60
Doggies $1,500 @ $1.50
West Coast $13,000 @ $2.65
West Coast $7,000 @ $2.40
West Coast $1,000 @ $2.40

In Summary

Carlton will win the spoon, Melbourne, Geelong, Eagles, Hawthorn failed to consolidate their positions and the Bombers are licking their wounds, Collingwood cemented a top 4 spot and its anyone's guess who will make up the 8.

See you all next week for another battle of Beat the Bookie or Who wants to be a Millionaire, so phone a friend and open up an Account with GlobalSportsbet
Good bye and good punting from
