The swinging stars of the golfing world head to Muirfield on the East coast of Scotland for the 131st Open Championship, which begins on Thursday. The links course on the Southern lip of the Firth of Forth is one of the best venues for golf in the world and four days of thrilling action is guaranteed. Nick Faldo maybe in the Indian summer of his career, but fond memories will come flooding back when he tees off on Thursday. The six-time major winner has flourished at Muirfield in the past, claiming victory on the last two occasions that the Open has been held there (1987 & 1992). If Faldo can grab his third win at Muirfield and his fourth Open title in total, he will join an illustrious list of players, that includes Gary Player, who have won the championship in three different decades. While Faldo's achievements are impressive, Tiger Woods' are mind blowing. Within the space of six years, the 27 year old American superstar has bagged eight Major crowns and with victories in the Masters and the US Open already this year, he is on course to capture the Grand Slam, the holy grail of golf. Saying all that, Tiger doesn't head to Scotland in such bonnie mood. He returns to the game after a month on the sidelines after suffering from flu-like symptoms. Will he return with a bang or a whimper? Outright Betting Tiger 13/8 Clarke 33/1 Faldo 40/1 Tiger's 2002 Major Performance Two 11/10 Three 13/10 Four 4/1
