GLOBAL WRAP AFL ROUND 14

With a number of very close games, some favourites were not clear in punters mind. Of the clear favourites only Collingwood won and covered the line. The Sydney result saved many of the multi punters, but a number of these were tipped out when Brisbane failed to win by more than 40 Points. We made our money on two games this week, the Kangaroos and Brisbane not covering the line. The end result was Global showing a profit for the week.

Essendon V Kangaroos

Essendon opened early in the week at $1.50 before weight of money pushed them into $1.43 with Global. Late money for the Kangaroos saw them backed in from $2.90 to $2.80 at game time and Essendon finally starting $1.46. Most of the multi punters went down in this game with Essendon as the Banker. The biggest of these was Essendon/Sydney/Collingwood/Brisbane $25,000 @ $2.85. Lucky for Global that the Kangaroos won as all of the other legs won.

Collingwood v Hawthorn

Collingwood opened at $1.28 and were backed into $1.23 by game time with Global. Once again the punters reloaded and included Collingwood and Sydney as the Bankers for the remaining AFL games. The biggest multi was Collingwood/Sydney/Brisbane40+ $10,000 @ $2.49.

Carlton v Sydney

Sydney was backed from $1.50 into $1.35. No money for Carlton without Fevola and Whitnall. One punter took Sydney/Collingwood/ Brisbane to win Flag/Lloyd to win Coleman Medal $7,500 @ $8.37. We thought we had the money here when Carlton kicked clear in the last quarter, but without Fevola they couldn’t covert, having 24 scoring shots to Sydney 20 scoring shots.

Brisbane v Richmond

All the punters took Brisbane 40+ in this game. Brisbane 40+ was backed from $1.50 into $1.45 by game time. Great to see the Tigers put up a competitive performance and get us the money.

West Coast v Geelong

Not much action here we bet $1.95 both sides resulting in a small loss for Global.

St Kilda v Port Adelaide

Port Adelaide was backed from $2.10 into $2.00 by game time and the result was never in doubt. One punter had $10,000 @ $2.08 and $11,000 +5.5 on Port Adelaide for a $21,000 win. The Saints look gone and seem to be struggling all over the ground. We are yet to See Grant Thomas make any constructive moves when the side is losing. He did a great job when they were flying and beating everybody. Anyone could have been coaching then. Suspect the 3 year renewal of contract might be delayed a little.

Western Bulldogs v Fremantle

Once again a dead betting game with punters wanting to stay out, nobody wanted to back Western Bulldogs, but who wants to back Fremantle away from Subiaco. This game resulted in a small loss for Global.

Adelaide v Melbourne

Not much interest in this game at Global, most multies included Melbourne, so we ended the week with a small win in this game.

Good Punting

Until next Week
