AFL Wrap
GLOBAL WRAP AFL ROUND 13 St Kilda v Hawthorn The Hawks opened very short at $1.12. When the news of Hamill and Maguire would miss we drifted them to $1.14 with the Hawks in from $7.00 to $6.25 by game time. The line went from 43.5 to 40.5 at game time, the added rumor of Gehrig missing got us excited that the Hawks had a chance. At ¼ time we were feeling great. I sat next to a mad St Kilda supporter calling for major changes due to their shocking first quarter. Its good to see them shouting GET him off, his useless (Gehrig). They got to learn to take the good with the bad. They got to remember they got Thomas as the coach, his great when they winning, he not sure what to do when they losing. At ¾ time I saw a young Hawk fan feeling sick, and actually went home. I felt the same way myself being on the Hawks at +43.5. A smart punter bet $8,000 on St Kilda at -40.5 for a nice collect of $7,200. Geelong v Brisbane Good support for Geelong at Global in from $3.15 to $3.00 with the forecast of some rain. The line went from 20.5 to 17.5 by game time. Most the multy punters included Brisbane. One punter had $10,000 @ $2.25 on Brisbane 1-39. Richmond v Carlton We went up $1.80 Carlton and were happy to lay them at that price. The news of Richo leaving the track early saw Carlton shorten to $1.75 but back out to $1.80 by game time with Richo in the team. Most punters included Carlton in their multies, with not a lot of interest in this game. Fremantle v Port Adelaide We got this game completely wrong. We thought Fremantle at home would turn the corner. We opened them at $2.05 and continued to lay them into $1.90. One punter bet $20,000 @ $1.95, $20,000 @ $1.92 and $11,000 @ +4.5 @ $1.91 plus $3,000 on 40+ at $6.85 a net win of $44, 410 for this punter. We did have a few mugs bet Fremantle on the other side, but one of our worst results for the year. Kangaroos v West Coast The Kangaroos opened at $1.65 and were backed into $1.50 at game time. The money all went one way here. It’s very hard to lay WCE away from Subiaco. Essendon v Melbourne Melbourne was backed from $1.90 into $1.78 by game time with the news Dustin Fletcher was going to miss. Somehow we managed to miss most of this money and wanted Melbourne in the end. One punter from Tasmania bet $11,000 on Essendon -1.5 @ $1.91. They must not get Radio or TV down there. Essendon eventually ran at $2.10 with Global. Adelaide v Western Bulldogs Surprisingly the punters included the Bulldogs in the multies here. After a good win against St Kilda most of the punters liked the Dogs at the line and straight out. With Adelaide getting home we managed to get something back for the week, but an overall losing week for the Global Team. With only one AFL Game next week we concentrate on EURO 2004 and Wimbledon for next week. EURO 2004 Lots of Soccer action over the last week. The Global Team slightly in front to date with two games daily. Wimbledon The clear favourite is Roger Federer at $2.20, who will beat him? .Can Llyeton Hewitt do it ?? We don’t think so $12.00 at Global Can Philippoussis do it ? NO, Tell him his Dreaming $45.00 at Global Good Punting Until next Week The team at Global
