Blackburn v Aston Villa (Tues - 8.00pm)

Blackburn may still be wallowing in Cup glory, but they need to get their act together if they are to escape relegation.

Blackburn should get a rousing reception against Villa as they get set for their first home match since their memorable Worthington Cup win at the Millennium Stadium. A supportive Ewood Park crowd will be much appreciated, as Rovers seek to pick up maximum points to calm their relegation fears. After seeing his star striker, Andy Cole, sent from the field in Saturday's North West derby with Bolton, Graeme Souness would have been relieved that Blackburn at least picked up a point from the game. However, the Rovers' boss knows that wins are now needed as the countdown to the end of the season picks up pace.

Blackburn won't find it easy to break down Graham Taylor's Aston Villa, even with a fervent backing from the Ewood Park faithful. With Tugay back in the side to bolster their midfield ranks though, I predict that Rovers will just sneak this one… Blackburn are priced at 11/8 to take all three points.

Longshot… Blackburn to win 1-0 or 2-1…. 13/2 and 8/1 respectively

Match Odds…. Blackburn 11/8 Aston Villa 8/5 Draw 11/5
