31 March 2005 For Immediate Release Footy fans get on board the $2 Lines Football fans from the three major footy codes can cash in this week with leading sports betting agency Sports Acumen offering $2 lines on selected Friday night games in the AFL, NRL and Super 12 competitions. The $2 Lines, which have attracted significant interest from punters in the past, will be available on the Carlton v Essendon AFL blockbuster, the Parramatta v Penrith clash and the Reds v Highlanders Super 12 match. “This offer guarantees the very best value for punters and is a way for us to build some more momentum for what promises to be a bumper football season,” Sports Acumen’s Head Trader Matthew Fisk said. “The $2 lines give punters a huge advantage because they are betting into a 100% market, which is virtually unheard of. It has been amazing the interest generated through our $2 Lines in the past but it shows how price sensitive the market is nowadays” Sports Acumen opening lines for each of the $2 Line matches are: AFL $2 Line – Carlton v Essendon (Carlton minus 8.5 points start) NRL $2 Line – Parramatta v Penrith (Penrith minus 6 points start) Super 12 $2 Line – Reds v Highlanders (Reds minus 5.5 points start) Line betting is traditionally offered at $1.90 (or $1.85 at some books) and the 10 cent difference takes out the bookmaker’s percentage. Sports Acumen will be betting on every game in every code over the weekend with Australia’s widest range of fixed and spread betting options. Sports Acumen will also be betting ‘Live in the Run’ in selected matches with live television coverage.
