At one stage in the second quarter it looked as if the Hawks would win by 100. At stages in the second half it looked as if they could go down by 5 goals. The betting, however, was not as exciting as the game. Punters found the Hawks far too short to bet at either the line or straight. With the much talked about “senior player roasting” at Ardent St and the Roos impressive record in the Nation’s Capital we just kept taking bets on the Roos. The most popular pick was the Roos on the line, which was always going to give punters a good sight in a cold Canberra winter.
