TAB Punters land multies
18:45
Monday 8 February |
New Orleans pulled off a Superbowl upset
today and there were a few TAB Sportsbet clients with plenty to
celebrate. The biggest multi landed was $3,000 at 114/1 collecting
$340,000 on New Orleans into Federer and Serena in the Oz Open, Spain in
Davis Cup, Whincup in the V8's, Australian in the Four Nations Rugby and
Bute in an IBF boxing bout.
New Orleans started the season at 25/1 before going off in the Superbowl
at 7/4. Indianapolis traded as short as 1/5 when they shot to a 10-0
first quarter lead.
Two more $45 multies landed at the TAB, collecting $61,000 and $10,500
respectively. One involved New Orleans into the winnners (Westwood and
Townsend) of two golf tournaments - not even the toughest bookie would
deny that punter.
And to top things off, another punter landed a multi with Basketball,
NHL and Soccer - $500 at 229/1 for a cool $115K collect. TAB Sportsbet
also held: $55,000 New Orleans +4.5 at 1.95; $5,000 New Orleans 13+ at
9.00; and $23,360 Under 10.5 Points in 1st Quarter at 1.75. (Score was
10-0).

FOOTBALL
Shock of the
decade
23:46
Monday 11 January |
Some are calling it the biggest ever
football shock. Mali pulled off a stunning fightback to draw 4-4 with
Angola after trailing 4-0 with 11 minutes left in the opening game of
the Africa Cup of Nations.
Angola traded at the minimum price of 1-100 on Betfair when 4-0 up
(£168,467 matched at odds of 1-100) after 78 minutes. The draw was
backed at the maximum price of 999-1 (£37 matched at 999-1). Mali went
on to score 4 goals in the final 11 minutes to level the match at 4-4 to
create one of the biggest betting shocks ever, in any sport, let alone
football.
