WIMBLEDON - MONDAY 27TH JUNE

TREBLE
F Gonzalez to bt M Youzhny
S Grosjean to bt D Tursunov
Andy Roddick to bt G Coria
3 at 2.12 IASBet +3.36

Fernando Gonzalez to bt Mikhail Youzhny

Youzhny has put some very ordinary form behind him to reach the fourth round here for the third time. He looks to face a big task today however unless he can pick up his serve. He was broken on no less than seven occasions against Bjorkman when landing just over 50% of his first ball. Gonzalez, who was not broken at all during his corresponding match with Joachim Johannson, looks to be appreciating the somewhat 'slower' conditions this year and will surely take some beating.

Sebastien Grosjean to bt Dmitry Tursunov

Terrific performance by Tursunov to back-up his shock win over Henman with a very solid performance against Popp. It must be said however that the slower and heavier conditions were not to the German's liking. This wont be any easier for the Russian-American. Grosjean, a back-to-back semi-finalist here, is a very tough proposition on grass. The Frenchman did well to shake off the up and coming Djokovic on Saturday and should prove too solid again.

Andy Roddick to bt Guillermo Coria

A-Rod had an easier time of things against Andreev while Coria was as his absolute best after a slow start against Melzer. There hasn't been a lot in it when these two have met in the past - most notably at the Masters Cup over the past two years - but it is extremely hard to see Coria getting too close today. Roddick wont be able to get too many past Coria from the back, but his service advantage is immeasurable.

WIMBLEDON - SATURDAY 25TH JUNE

Gilles Muller to bt R Gasquet 1 at 4.74 Pinnacle -1

Gasquet has been in some remarkable form (10-1 on grass in last three weeks) but surely oddsmakers and punters are getting a little carried away now. The Frenchman didn't have it all his own way in the second round against Elseneer while Muller was very solid against Nadal. I see no reason why Muller can't reproduce that form today up against another youngster who doesn't have the same level of experience on grass. Muller is a lefty with a solid serve and sharp game at the net and is also a former Wimbledon junior runner-up.

WIMBLEDON - THURSDAY 23RD JUNE

Olivier Rochus to bt Max Mirnyi 2 at 2.63 SportingOdds -2

Neither player has dropped serve in their opening round matches. Mirnyi ended a seven-match losing streak in the Grand Slams with a comfortable win over Rainer Schuettler on Tuesday. The Belarusian has been in terrific form lately, but I'm not sure if we should read too much into that win as Schuettler was coming straight off clay and is having a shocking year. Rochus is most capable on grass and despite losing to Mirnyi at Nottingham last week, under best-of-five conditions, its hard to see a lot in this.

Gilles Muller to bt Rafael Nadal 0.5 at 7.92 Pinnacle +3.46

The French Open champ is playing with great confidence at present, but this looms as a big danger game for mine. Muller has a solid game for grass and it showed in the lead-up when he pushed Thomas Johansson all the way at the Queens Club. Lets not forget that Nadal lost to Waske in the lead-up and has admitted that while he wants to win here, that his expectations are not high.

Dmitry Tursunov to bt Tim Henman 0.5 at 7.55 Pinnacle +3.28

Will the Brit put his supporters through hell again? Most will be hoping for no repeat on Tuesday's terrible performance, but I'm not sure if this is going to be a lot easier. The Russian-American Tursunov is a hardcourt specialist with a very handy serve for grass. He has been competitive in a couple of grass court lead-up tournaments and he beat Safin here last year, so is no stranger to performing on the big stage. Looks be worth a nibble at the odds.

Xavier Malisse to bt G Coria 2.5 at 2.25 SportsTAB -2.5

Interesting match-up - if Malisse can stay mentally strong (and that is a rather big question mark) - I like his chances today. He has a lot more game for grass and his results on the surface (he made the semis here three years ago) when compared to Coria's are clearly superior. Coria has the ability to frustrate, but I believe that Malisse could just as easily upset the Argentine with his more attacking game. Despite his perceived mental troubles, its worth noting that Malisse's first round victory was his eight win in his last ten five-set matches.

Davide Sanguinetti to bt I Andreev 2.5 at 2.30 SportsTAB -2.5

Andreev has a heavy-hitting game that can work well on grass but it was quite an upset win over Soderling on Tuesday. The veteran Italian has a lot of Grand Slam experience on his side today. He has been playing well recently and his boring style and low-error play might just get under the skin of the sometimes volatile Russian.

TREBLE
Thomas Johansson to bt A Pavel
Wayne Arthurs to bt A Popp
Novak Djokovic to bt G G-Lopez
1.5 at 3.22 SportsTAB -1.5

Thomas Johansson to bt Andrei Pavel

Johansson came in under a slight injury cloud but by all accounts looked fit when disposing of Ulihrach on Tuesday. Pavel has been in very average form recently and doesn't have the grass court record of his opponent today. He has the ability to extend the match, but the Swede has a better serve to help him through.

Wayne Arthurs to bt Alexander Popp

Two big-servers on what is generally recognised as one of the fastest courts at Wimbledon. Popp has a great record here but I'm not sure how long he can keep it going. He was a little fortunate to get past Haehnel in four on Tuesday after throwing up a lot of break chances. Arthurs looks to be playing okay and should be a little sharper at the net.

Novak Djokovic to bt Guillermo Garcia-Lopez

Both in their first main draw here. The young qualifier Djokovic is not particularly proven at this level, but he looks to have too much all-round game for the Spaniard today. Garcia-Lopez was impressive against Ferrer in the first two sets and did well to close out the third set breaker but I feel that Djokovic has a little more class and more ability at the net.

WIMBLEDON - WEDNESDAY 22ND JUNE

Hyung-Taik Lee to bt J-C Ferrero 1.5 at 3.16 Pinnacle -1.5

I really cant see there being too much in this. H-T Lee served very well against Enqvist on Monday and is better suited to the grass. Ferrero has proved capable on grass over the years but he steps up a class from his first round opponent Delgado. He never wins easily on this surface and might find himself under more pressure to hold serve.

Greg Rusedski to bt J Johansson 2.5 at 2.21 Pinnacle -2.5

Johansson didn't offer a single break point against Montanes but it must be said that he didn't have great success returning the clay courters serve either. He's had a few fitness issues in the lead-up and has not been in great form recently. Rusedski has a wealth of experience on this surface and if he can get some luck in the breakers with a big crowd behind him, he looks a huge show.

Kevin Kim to bt Taylor Dent 1 at 4.14 Pinnacle -1

Dent looked in all sorts of trouble going into the fifth against Norman but to his credit, he knuckled down and hardly missed a beat on serve. He gets a good court to utilise his big weapon today on Court 18 which is generally recognised to be one of the faster courts at SW19. Having said that, Kevin Kim served well himself in the opening round and given that he is in the best form of his career this year and the fact that Dent had a few poor losses in the lead-up, he looks far from a certainty here.

TREBLE
Nicolas Kiefer to bt A Di Mauro
F Verdasco to bt F Mayer
Marat Safin to bt M Philippoussis
2 at 2.83 Canbet -2

Nicolas Kiefer to bt Alessio Di Mauro

The former quarter-finalist Kiefer was made to work hard by Benneteau on Monday but is hard to oppose here. Di Mauro is a lefty which helps on grass, but he plays his best on clay.

Fernando Verdasco to bt Florian Mayer

Mayer reached the quarters here last year with wins over the likes of Arthurs, Coria and Joachim Johanasson. He has the game for grass but his form this year has been very average so its hard to support him today after just a win over the clay courter Ventura. Verdasco has tightened up his game significantly in recent times and looks to be improving his mental attitude as well.

Marat Safin to bt Mark Philippoussis

One has to give credit to Philippoussis - he dug himself out of a big hole by saving set points in the first set against Beck on Monday - otherwise the result could have been very different. He demands a lot of respect on this surface and Safin is not the most reliable type as we all know, but he looked fairly impressive against Srichaphan in the first round. The Russian returns to the same court today where the slower conditions should suit.

WIMBLEDON - TUESDAY 21ST JUNE

Peter Wessels to bt Jiri Novak 2 at 2.55 Pinnacle -2

Novak is a disappointing 6-9 over his career here and posted a sharp loss to Haas in his only lead-up match on the surface. He has had his motivational issues this year so he looks far from a good thing here. Wessels has a great serve for grass but it must be said that he has chosen to play on the surface very sparingly over the years. While he didn't elect to play a lead-up event this year, when he has shown up on grass, he has beaten the like of Safin and Rafter, so must be rated a strong show today.

Janko Tipsarevic to bt Tommy Haas 0.5 at 7.75 Pinnacle Void

Haas pulled from a tournament last week citing a thigh strain but we'll have to assume that he is fit today. He had a solid week before that in Halle, losing a tight match to Federer in the semis but its fair to say that his play on grass over the years has just been average. Tipsarevic gets into the main draw after being forced to qualify last year before losing in four sets to Ginepri. He has posted respectable losses to Rettenmaier and Gasquet in the lead-up so don't be expect to see him go down without a big fight today.

Jerome Haehnel to bt A Popp 1.5 at 3.78 Pinnacle -1.5

The fast court specialist Popp didn't make too much of an impact against Safin and Dent in his two lead-up events and while he has a very good 11-3 record here, he looks well under the odds today. Haehnel is playing his first Wimbledon and has also notched up two losses in the lead-up but he has some very handy results on fast courts, so don't be surprised to see him go very close here.

Andreas Seppi to bt D Sanguinetti 2 at 2.55 Pinnacle -2

No less than twelve years separates these two countryman but I'm not sure the edge in experience will be enough for the veteran today. Sanguinetti has been playing some very solid tennis in recent times, but he has advanced past the first round here just once in his last six attempts. The qualifier Seppi may have played the majority of his tennis on clay, but he hits a very flat ball that has him well suited to these conditions.

MULTI (FOUR-FOLD)
Gilles Muller to bt Felix Mantilla Vd
Dmitry Tursunov to bt N Almagro

Novak Djokovic to bt J Monaco
Tuomas Ketola to bt A Calatrava
2.5 at 2.47 Chandler -2.5

Gilles Muller to bt Felix Mantilla

Muller is making his first appearance in the main draw here but he is a very capable player on grass. He is a former junior runner-up (01) here and a tight loss to Thomas Johansson in the second round of Queens was enough to suggest that he is in some solid form. Mantilla is one Spaniard who has shown up here over the years, but he is first-up on grass this time around and has clearly seen his better days.

Dmitry Tursunov to bt Nicolas Almagro

This is new territory for the predominately clay-court playing Almagro. He played a clay challenger tournament last week, perhaps giving an insight as to how seriously he is taking his first foray onto the turf. Tursunov has decent game for grass. He has had some solid lead-up matches and lets not forget that he beat Safin in the opening round here last year so will have good memories returning to the scene of that triumph.

Novak Djokovic to bt Juan Monaco

Both making their first main draw appearance. Monaco will be making his ATP-level debut on grass while the exciting youngster Djokovic came through a five-setter against the grass-savvy Moodie in the final round of qualifying at Roehampton. He has shown he can play on clay and faster surfaces in his brief career to date so must start a very solid fave here.

Tuomas Ketola to bt Alex Calatrava

Ketola came through qualifying last week at Roehampton and looks to have far too much experience and ability on this surface. Big ask for Calatrava to be competitive here coming off a clay challenger and a 3-13 record on year on his favoured clay.

WIMBLEDON - MONDAY 20TH JUNE

Marcos Baghdatis to bt M Youzhny 2 at 2.75 Chandler -2

Youzhny made the fourth round here in his first two appearances but his form on grass since and particularly in general this year has been very shaky. Baghdatis is young and eager and while he is relatively inexperienced on grass at this level, he did make the final of a junior event at Roehampton a few years ago. He has also notched up some very good results on faster surfaces at challenger level recently so I expect him to be right in this.

Jan Hernych to bt James Blake 2.5 at 2.25 IASBet +3.13

Hernych plays well on faster surfaces and has had six matches under the belt in two grass court lead-up events when posting wins over the likes of Clement and Coria. Blake on the other hand, doesn't look to be too far away from his pre-2004 form and while he suffered a tight loss to Grosjean at Queens, I have a feeling that this is not going to be much in this.

Adrian Garcia to bt J Gimelstob 2 at 2.56 Pinnacle -2

The journeyman Gimelstob has struggled to pick his game up to ATP level in the last few years. Don't think this will be easy by any means. Garcia came through quallies at Roehampton with two very hard fought wins over two solid grass court players. Gimelstob gets in as a lucky loser having pulled early from his final round qualifying match with Bastl. It appears that he is right to go today, but he will be made to work extremely hard.

Dick Norman to bt Taylor Dent 1.5 at 3.70 Pinnacle -1.5

Big servers have had good success against Taylor Dent in recent times and given that Norman is match-fit having come through qualifying, I don't think that there will be a lot in this one. Dent suffered losses to Andrew Murray and Gasquet and is a surprisingly average 5-5 at SW19. Veterans grow another leg at Wimbledon and Norman has been playing well enough at challenger level to lift a required notch or two today.

Anthony Dupuis to bt T Berdych 2.5 at 2.23 Pinnacle -2.5

It's fair to say that Berdych has not quite lived up to expectations following his break-out year last year. We haven't got too much grass form to go on - I make him 1-4 on the surface at ATP level - but he was competitive with his losses to Mirnyi and Thomas Johansson in the lead-up. Dupuis has come through qualifying and has a lot more experience on the surface. Don't see much in this at all, so the odds-against looks the value.

Cyril Saulnier to bt Dominik Hrbaty 3 at 2.10 William Hill -3

This is easily Hrbaty's worst slam at 3-8. He has never mastered the surface and while he notched up a surprise win over Ginepri last week at Nottingham he will find this difficult. Saulnier, at just 2-4, has not had any more success at Wimbledon, but his grass court record is far superior. He has the edge on serve and can do a little more at the net for mine. He has not been having a great year, but he'll take some beating today.

Karol Beck to bt M Philippoussis 3 at 2.10 Centrebet -3

The Scud has exceeded all expectations in his return over the past two weeks as he attempts to get his ailing career back on track on the grass. He has notched up four wins in the lead-up, but its fair to say that none have been against a player with a solid grass court record such as Beck. Philippoussis must be given some respect - as we all saw with Ivanisevic, you cant write off the big servers here on their return - but the Aussie is a shadow of his former self, even when compared to his runner-up showing two years ago. The Slovak is very good on the surface and will surely get plenty of chances today.
